From Montessori Pioneers to Global Innovators: Australia’s Longest-Running Montessori School Blends Tradition and Modernity

Founded in 1962 by Mrs. Willemien Duyker-de-Vries, who was trained by Dr. Maria Montessori herself, our school has a strong foundation in Montessori education.

Relocating from Scarborough to Kingsley and witnessing the suburb grow around your school shows how our school has become an integral part of the community. It has evolved to adapt to the changing world while still staying true to the Montessori philosophy and incorporating the science of how children learn.

Being Western Australia’s first Montessori school as well as Australia’s longest-running Montessori school is a remarkable achievement, and being the first Montessori school in the world to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) further demonstrates our commitment to providing a well-rounded education. The IBDP is recognised internationally and provides students with a rigorous and holistic approach to learning.
