Annual General Meeting – 2021

We welcome parents, staff and other members of our association to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM is a mandatory meeting held by every Association where the actions and achievements of the past year (2021) are presented, with the reports from the Chair, Treasurer, sub-committee conveners, and Principal. It is also the occasion to present the strategic goals for the school in the current year and beyond.
There are three positions open on the Board: Angela Chew and Jarrod Burns, have reached the end of their term on the Board, and Melinda Shreeve will terminate her Secretary position. Directors reaching the end of their term may choose to re-nominate.
Anyone else wishing to nominate for the Board must complete the attached Nomination Form and return to the School via email before 5pm Wednesday, 15 June 2022. Board Directors duties are detailed on the Nomination Form.
While the AGM will officially begin at 7:30pm, we will have nibbles from 7:00pm.
The Board is actively looking for individuals with the following skills:
- Human resources experience;
- Grant writing experience; or
- Corporate experience, or strategy development experience.
For the role of Secretary:
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Good organisation skills; and
- Attention to detail.
A transition plan is in place to help the new Secretary to settle in their duties.

Treasurer
Additionally, the Board is also looking for a new Treasurer. Note that the Treasurer is not elected by the members of the Association but appointed by the Board as the Treasurer should have accounting background and certain experiences in financials. The Treasurer supports the school Business Manager in vetting of financial process, budgets and reports and oversees the financial management of the school. Time commitment is estimated ~7hrs/month. In particular, the Treasurer:
- Attends the School Board meetings as per the meeting schedule (1x/month) where the Treasurer’s Report is presented and discussed.
- Chairs the Finance Sub-Committee and prepares the meeting minutes (1x/month).
- Provides support to the School Business Manager, as required.
- Reviews the annual budget and provides recommendations to the Board.
- Provides an annual school fee analysis and recommendations of next year’s fees to the Board.
- Prepares financial modelling to help the Board make decisions regarding any big capital projects.
- Updates the school’s 5-year forecast yearly according to the school strategic direction.
- Presents the Annual Treasurer’s Report to the School Community at the Board AGM.
- Acts in the best interest of the Strategic direction of the school when conducting board business.
