In 2015, staff in the pre-primary found a dead snake on the side of the road and brought it to school. At that stage the pre-primary children took great interest in taking apart the body and removing the bones.
Now that Scary Smelly Wild Dugite is a collection of spotlessly clean, beautiful, shiny vertebrae and ribs!
The pre-primary children who have moved to Lower Primary have spent many hours finding a picture of a skeleton of a dugite, and attempting to fit the vertebrae together. Though an extremely laborious task, they have succeeded in finding out exactly how the vertebrae and ribs are attached to each other. They have sorted the bones into types and sizes and are now satisfying their curiosity in finding out exactly how many vertebrae and ribs the dugite had! Well they have reached 110 and are still counting!
